Avec le nom de L’Atelier, Pete Johnson, souligne le caractère artisanal de ces petits cigares fabriqués par Pepin Garcia de l’usine My Father Cigars. Les cigares ont un nom français en raison de la passion de Pete Johnson pour la France et ses vins. Il est souvent un invité personnel dans la célèbre région viticole de Saint-Emilion, non loin de Bordeaux.
Pour la série L’Atelier, Pete Johnson s’est associé à son frère et à quelques amis de l’industrie, donc c’est délibérément en dehors de la gamme régulière de Tatuaje. La cape de la série L’Atelier provient d’un croisement spécial entre Criollo et Pelo de Oro, avec le mystérieux nom Sancti Spiritus (Holy Spirit). La sous-cape cultivée en Équateur est utilisée pour la première fois dans ces cigares et est une nouveauté absolue.
